Dr. Kofi Agyeman hails from Woodbridge, Virginia. During his collegiate years, Dr. Agyeman played basketball and soccer, garnering a particular interest in musculoskeletal injuries and how they affect wellbeing.
Dr. Agyeman is proud to have first-author publications in the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, the Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery. He recognizes each patient as an individual, with unique needs and goals which beckon individualized treatment plans.
Dr. Agyeman attended Southwestern Adventist University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Biochemistry. He subsequently took his talents to Houston’s Baylor College of Medicine. At Baylor, he served as President of its chapter’s Student National Medical Association, earning a scholarship from the Houston Medical Forum. He was formally recognized as one of his graduating class’ Outstanding Students in orthopedic surgery. Subsequently, Dr. Agyeman underwent an orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital – America’s largest county hospital.
Outside of surgery, Dr. Agyeman enjoys riding around in his well-worn Honda (“Lola”) with his two mutt terriers (“Chevy” and “Rocket”). He tirelessly roots for all Washington D.C. sports teams and enjoys making music with his family, all of whom reside in Southern California. Ultimately, he’s simply happy to help others out, and you should be too.
